…Boston, New York, Dallas, San Francisco, Los Angeles — and I caught enough of it to keep going.
The feeling that I was miscast had always been there. I became adept at ignoring it.
That all changed when my father died. On the same day my first child was born.
Something shifted that I couldn't unshift. The question I'd been outrunning finally caught me: Was I willing to spend the rest of my life in a career that had nothing to do with who I was on the inside?
It took me a few more years to find the answer. But that was the moment the old story stopped being enough.
The turning point wasn't dramatic. It happened slowly. A gradual recognition that the drive pushing me forward wasn't ambition — it was fear. Fear of not being enough. Fear of wasting my degree. A fear I'd inherited watching my father lose his career when I was sixteen.
That fear is a powerful engine. Left unexamined, it will bring you to a place you never intended to go.
So I spent years learning how the mind actually works — why we make the choices we make, why we stay stuck, and what it takes to change. That work transformed my own life. And somewhere in that process I discovered something I hadn't expected: helping others do the same is the only work I want to do.
I founded Intention because I believe most people are far closer to the life they want than they realize. The gap isn't talent, or resources, or time. It's the invisible resistance running under the surface. And when you learn how to remove it, your whole life changes.
If any of this sounds familiar,
you're in the right place.
What is the vision you have for your life that is so powerful that nothing will stop you?
If you’ve never answered that question, this is the time to do it.
And this is the place to do it.
Join me and an extraordinary group of growth-oriented, huge-hearted, authentic humans for an experience that will fundamentally shift how you see yourself and what's possible for your life.
I’ve been going to retreats like this for over a decade now, and this is one of the best I’ve ever been to.

What inspires you?
What matters most
to you?
What does your most alive, most impactful life actually look like?
And why haven't you let yourself have it?
These two days are about getting absolute clarity on those questions and developing a plan for stepping into it. This isn’t a resolution that you’ll drop by March. It’s a clear, honest look at the life you actually want, and the specific ways you've been standing in your own way of it.
Fourteen years ago I started chasing this answer. I got there the day I stopped running from things I didn't want and started running toward something I did. I got honest about what mattered, and I stopped letting myself off the hook when I didn’t pursue it with everything I had. The plan didn't change my life. Becoming someone who didn’t need to talk himself into it did.
I guess it comes down to a simple choice, really.
Get busy living, or get busy dying.
-Andy Dufresne, “The Shawshank Redemption”
That's the work here:
Name the life you want. The life you’ve always known was possible for you, but didn’t know how to get it. Maybe you even stopped believing you could.
Don’t shift your habits. Learn to shift who you are – someone who doesn’t need to fight yourself to live that life.
What
we'll do
How do you create the kind of life you’re meant for?
With honest reflection, clear intention, and the courage to name what’s been in your way.
With humility and honesty, examine where you’ve been thriving – and where you've been settling
Find the specific ways you're blocking your own progress – and how to remove them
Build a real, actionable plan for 2027 — for your work, your health, your relationships…all of it
Do it alongside people who are just as serious about this as you are
Eat well, move, breathe – and challenge ourselves – for two days, somewhere beautiful
The
two days
Saturday is honesty. You uncover what you actually want and get honest about what is standing in your way.
Sunday is building. Everything from Saturday feeds your plan — with real, actionable goals and milestones. Not a poster-caption version.
You'll leave with a vision of your best year ever, a plan you can act on Monday morning, and a group of people who'll hold you to it.
Come solo. Bring your partner. Either way, this isn't a year you're sleepwalking through
